The Code Enforcement Officer reviews applications submitted for applicability of New York State Building Codes and Local Laws, issues Building Permits, Demolition Permits, Certificates of Occupancy/Use and Compliance Certificates, monitors, inspects and approves construction site phases (footer, foundation, framing and plumbing). He is responsible for periodic Fire and Safety Inspections on multiple housing units and commercial structures. Also coordinates the issuance of official addresses for new residences with the Cayuga County 911 Center.
RESPONSIBILITES:
Enforcement of regulatory construction standards that prescribe the materials and types of construction for renovations, repairs and demolition. Investigates various complaints and concerns for unsafe structures, inappropriate usage of property and perceived hazardous living accomodations.
