§ 31‑1.  Term.

§ 31‑1.  Term.

The term of office of the elective Supervisor of the Town of Brutus shall be four (4) years. Such four‑year term shall commence on the first day of January following the first biennial town election after the effective date of this chapter.

 

§ 31‑2.  Election.

At the biennial town election next following the effective date of this chapter, and every four (4) years thereafter, the Supervisor shall be elected for a term of four (4) years.

 

§ 31‑3.  Supercession of statutory provisions.

This chapter shall supersede in its application to the Town of Brutus § 24 of the Town Law, with respect to the term of office of the elective Supervisor.

§ 31‑4.  Approval at referendum.

This chapter shall be submitted for approval to the electors of the Town of Brutus at a special town election to be held not less than sixty (60) days after its adoption on date fixed by resolution of the Town Board.1

 

§ 31‑5.  When effective.

This chapter shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State after approval by a majority of the electors voting thereon in accordance with the requirements of § 23 of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
