Tax Collector

County and Town taxes are collected by the Tax Collector from January 1st to March 31st.  After March 31st, all tax payments are made to the County Treasurer's Office.   Full tax payments or First Installment payments may be made until February 10th.  First Installment payments cannot be accepted after February 10th. Checks should be made payable to Mary Kae Brentlinger, Tax Collector.  Payments received after February 10th are subject to a 1% penalty.  Payments made after March 1st are subject to a 2% penalty and $2.00 service fee.

Tax bills may be viewed online at www.ecayuga.com.  This site has county/tax, school and village tax bills available.  If you are searching for a property located in the Village of Weedsport, you need to choose Weedsport rather than the Town of Brutus.

Payments made by credit card must be made at the Cayuga County Treasurer's Office.  The School Tax information may be obtained by calling Nancy Connors at (315) 776-5330.

Payments can be made Tuesday through Thursday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. and Fridays between 7 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.   The office is closed on Mondays.  Payments can be mailed to the Town Office but must be post marked by February 10th in order to be considered timely.  There is also a locked drop box near the Court entrance of the Town Municipal Building.
